Guy played perfect:
Mp guy open 30, i just call w Red TT, btn young kid John 3bet 110, mp fold i tk call w 1500behind, HU $260. I actually knew john, real nice kid, played well but i can spot some of his tells. Mp guy has some sizing tell, so for John its a real good squeez spot, and he is capable of doing this. Again, my hand may be good , and even if not, stack is deep enough for set value.
Flop 872hhs, i ck he led 180 into 260, i think and called. Plan to call down. Coz i think his move spells weakness.
Turn 5c, i ck he pause and ck behind. Pot 520.
Rv offsuit 6, now board 4strait. After his turn check, his. Hance of over pair greatly lowered. Coz the flop SPR was good for him to commit AA/KK. I thought about lead and let him hero call AK, but ended check, with intention of call a bet.
He pauz and pauz. Led huge 480. Now, AA/KK sure wont make such a big bet, neither does 2pair. 99 is like the only value hand, plus some random bluff. I weighed his str8 and bluff range, and think this is close call, but i did the crying call. He flipped Jd4d for botom end str8. I mucked.
He is my friend, so we talked about the hand after a few moment. I asked, what would u do if u brick the river? He said i was done, gave up no betting. Maybe bet A or K, other cards all ck. i told him i hav over pair, but did not say TT
I believe he was genuine. And his turn plan was perfect against my hand and my plan. All the implied odds were against me at that point. I wuld fold to an river bet if A or K come down. I genuinely said he played the hand very well.
I also read mp s 30pre as weak, but i didnt want to raise and geting raised back so that i cant call with TT for set value. All in all, i really dont have much to do otherwise, only mistake is probably calling the river, coz he stared at me, and retrospectly, that should be sign of strength for john specially.
Down to my original buyin $800. Made the call home, charged phone. Time to back to the battlefield. It aint over till it's over. |
