I will give it a try:
1. UTG has JJXX. it depends on what's UTG's read on the other two hands. if he put BB on a straight, what he doesn't want is to push then have UTG+2 reshove and drive out BB, which is the most likely scenario (UTG+2 pretty much has to unless he has nuts +nfd and he know UTG has set). there are too many assumptions we have to make without reads. and we can't judge UTG's play in this hand approriately because BB and UTG+2 both played wrong.
in a vacuum, I would just call. on a scare turn cards(flush or bigger straight), there are two way to play it. conservative one is to check hoping everyone check and give up if river doesn't pair. the aggressive approach is to push on any scare cards. probably works better on flush cards than straight cards, since anyone with flush draw is still drawing live when turn bring a bigger straight, so they can't be bluffed out for only 40k. since you have to call if someone bet, might as well try to take down the 100k pot risking 40k. if called, you still have 10 outs for boat. also, i don't think he won't get payoff if board paired. say turn paired and everyone check. now on river, he pushes and there is a good chance he get called. he could be on a flush draw and missed and decided to bluff. this is also why the aggressive approach above is better, for balance. ( you can't be as aggressive with a flush draw, since bluffing a paired turn could turn out to be disastrous, though you can still bluff if the turn bring a bigger straight. )
3. 77 is easy fold with 70k stack, don't think twice about it.
2. 99xx would be a little tougher, but still a fold imo. in plo, you shouldn't be drawing to a non-nut hand. if you hit your hands but still afraid to bet it, then you shouldn't draw in the first place. 5 way with 3 still to act, I would fold unless stack is much smaller. |
