I would prefer a small bet-call in this spot e.g. 1/3-1/2 pot, you get value from his pair, trips, and induce a bluff from his missed range because your bet would look like a blocker/thin-value bet. And this small bet is also balanced on your end because it makes sense to bet all your monsters this way too(but your opponent might not know that).
To induce bluff by checking rv is bad, because it looks too much like you were x/c-ing. There's almost no hand you donk turn and just give up rv, you would bet all air and monsters on the rv. So if a good reg bets against your rv check, it might very well be -EV for you to call.
On the other hand when you bet small on the river, your range can still be perceived as containing a cheap stab with missed draws just in case villain also has a missed draw, and villain knows that and might very well attempt a rebluff because lots of ppl feel very uncomfortable giving up to a smallish bet with missed draws.
