As you undoubtedly know, we offer a wide range of tournaments, and many of
our players choose to play in multiple tournaments simultaneously. For those
players, it was becoming somewhat impossible to ever have a break as the
breaks in tournaments rarely coincided.
For this reason, we have introduced synchronized breaks to a number of our
tournaments; regardless of what time a tournament begins, the break will
start at 55 minutes past the hour. This will allow any player to be sure
that no matter how many tournaments they are playing at once, they will
always have time for a quick bathroom or sanity break.
Please note that this does have an impact on rebuy tournaments. In the past,
rebuy events would run for one hour, then have a break, and end the rebuy
period. With synchronized breaks, the first break does *not* necessarily
signify the end of the rebuy period. For example, if a tournament starts at
1:30, it would play for 25 minutes, then have a 5 minute break, then play 35
more minutes before ending the rebuy period. Put more simply, no matter when
the break is, the rebuy period will play out the same amount of time, so it
is your responsibility to ensure that you do not miss the add-on period.
As this is a new feature, we are evaluating the response to it and will be
glad to pass on any comments you have (including requests to add it to
additional tournaments such as the multi-table Sit & Go events) to our Poker
Room Management team.
